John David Lewis (1938-2016)

Our extended Hoover family lost another member this month. John David Lewis, son of Maurice “Morsey” Lewis and Dorothy Preston, died in Buchanan, New York on October 14. He was born in Snow Shoe and graduated from Snow Shoe High School. David served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Bakers Pride Oven Company for 38 years.

David was survived by his wife Helga, daughter Michelle, son Scott and two grandchildren. His brothers Robert and Richard, both of Pennsylvania, also survive. His obituary can currently be read in the Centre Times Daily online and his memorial on Find A Grave.

David’s grandparents were Fountain Crider Lewis and Minnie Belle Hoover. Minnie was the eldest sister of our Clyde L. Hoover Sr.
